Each bar is approximately 2.7 oz. Both the shampoo bar and conditioner bar should last around 50 or more washes. If you have short hair they should last much longer.
***Our shampoo bar is not a traditional soap bar (soaps have a high pH) so it doesn’t leave a film on your hair as many do and no vinegar rinse is needed.
***It’s very important that you store the bars in an area that allows them to completely dry out between uses. It’s best to use a well draining soap dish like the ones offered in our shop.
If you intend to use these while traveling, I recommend purchasing 2 travel tins offered in our shop. It’s important to note that you should not store your bars in these if they’re wet since they can turn mushy and not last as long. I recommend taking a few rubber bands with you to put around the tins to make a makeshift soap dish. See the last photo in the slide to see what I mean.
Packaging and shipping are completely plastic free! Both the box and the glassine or cellophane bag that the bars come in are made from plants and completely biodegradable.

ABOUT OUR BARS
What do you mean by “pH balanced?”
When it comes to hair care, “pH balanced” means that a product should test between a pH of 4.5 and 5.5. Hair has a pH of around 5. Using a product that has a pH far out of this range can damage hair over time. A hair product that has too high of a pH will raise the cuticles on your hair strands and leave hair looking dull and much more likely to tangle. Our bars test close to a pH of 5.
Why sulfate free?
Sulfates are commonly added to shampoos because they are effective at cleaning.. sometimes a little too effective. Over time, sulfates can corrode and damage hair follicles, dry out the hair and scalp, or lead to skin irritations and hair loss. We use only the most gentle sulfate free surfactants made from coconut oil and glucose that are still able to effectively clean your hair without stripping it dry and all while giving you an amazing lather.
What’s wrong with silicones?
Though there’s a great debate about whether silicones are good or bad for hair, we choose not to use them because they’re synthetic polymers that are not biodegradable and it’s not well understood how they effect the environment they accumulate in. Instead we use coco caprylate which comes from coconut oil and has a similar hair feel to silicones.
Why a bar?
When you buy a bottle of shampoo, what you’re mostly getting is water. Bar shampoo is made without water so it’s super condensed. They last much longer and no need for the plastic. Did you know only about 10% of plastic in use ever gets recycled? Every bar is equal to at least one or several bottles of shampoo that you’re saving from a landfill. Plus they’re TSA compliant!
ABOUT OUR INGREDIENTS
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate: AKA baby foam. This is a sulfate free surfactant made from coconut oil that gently cleanses hair without stripping it dry and creates the creamiest lather.
RSPO Certified Cetyl Alcohol: Cetyl alcohol is another fatty alcohol that helps to soften hair and thicken the bars. We select ours from sustainably sourced palm oil.
Coco Glucoside: Another gentle sulfate free surfactant made from coconut oil and glucose. Coco Glucoside gives our bars an amazingly poofy lather.
Certified Organic Babassu Seed Oil: Babassu oil is very similar to coconut oil but is much lighter weight so it won’t weigh your hair down like coconut oil can be prone to.
Certified Organic and Palm Free Glycerin: Glycerin helps to moisturize hair and combat frizz. This glycerin comes from soy.
Certified Organic Guar Gum: Guar gum helps to give the bar excellent slip so you can spread it around your hair with ease.
Preservative Eco (Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Palm Free Glycerin, and Sorbic Acid): Though our bars are made without water, they come into contact with it so they need a preservative. We use this paraben free preservative that meets Ecocert and COSMOS standards. Though a preservative is present, it’s still important to store the bars in a way that allows them to completely dry out between uses.
Certified Organic Essential Oils (Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Lemon): All the best essential oils for your scalp that smell like a springtime meadow!
Certified Organic Nettle Leaf Powder: There’s a reason nettle is widely touted for hair! Nettles are packed with all kinds of nutrients and minerals such as Vitamin B and magnesium.
Non-GMO Citric Acid: Citric acid is used to balance the pH of the bars. Ours comes from non-GMO sugarcane.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate: It sounds scary but it’s made from rapeseed oil and there’s really nothing like it. The name has “sulfate” in it but it’s not anything like the harsh cleansing sulfates usually used in shampoos. This ingredient helps to detangle and deeply condition hair.
Fair Trade Certified Organic Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter helps to soften hair and gives strands a bit of smoothness and volume.
Certified Organic Jojoba Oil: This oil is not actually an oil! It’s more of a wax ester which is very similar to our skin sebum and helps to moisturize hair without weighing it down.
Coco Caprylate: A natural alternative to silicones! Coco caprylate is made from coconut oil. It’s made up of very small fatty acids which allows it to penetrate the hair shaft in order to moisturize it while not weighing it down.
Honeyquat: Honeyquat is made from honey and there’s nothing like it in it’s ability to moisturize and tame frizz.
Vegekeratin (Wheat Amino Acids, Soy Amino Acids, Arginine HCl, Serine, Threonine): A plant based alternative to animal keratin that helps to increased hair elasticity, strength, and shine.
Provitamin B5: This essential vitamin helps to deeply moisturize, strengthen, smooth, and add shine to hair.
Naturally Procured Baking Soda: Used to adjust the pH of the bars.

INSTRUCTIONS
Wet hair and rub the shampoo bar from roots to ends. A little goes a long way. Massage the lather into hair and scalp and rinse clean. Finish by using our conditioner bar. Conditioner bars do not lather so you’ll need to thoroughly rub the conditioner bar from roots to ends. If you have exceptionally curly hair, it may work better to coat your hair with the bar in sections. Massage into hair and scalp and rinse clean. It is very important to store the bars in an area that allows them to completely dry out between uses. It’s best to use a well draining soap dish.

I love these! I have been using bar shampoo for a while but I wasn’t sure how conditioner bars were going to go, assuming it’d be greasy and weigh my fine hair down. I was looking for somewhere I could get everything from one place (also ordered deo) in zero waste packaging. The shampoo is great but I’m most impressed with the conditioner, i feel like my hair has been so dry for so long and it glides on and feels amazing.

Love these for curly hair!

These shampoo and conditioner bars are by far the best ones I’ve ever used. I really love the minimal scent and how easy they are to use! They leave my hair feeling so soft. I will definitely be purchasing from this shop again ❤️

After using the shampoo and conditioner bar for about a month, I can say that they've been working well on my hair. I like that this shampoo bar is formulated for hair and pH balanced, unlike other shampoo bars on the market that are just a regular soap bar. For me, the conditioner bar is a must after washing because my hair does feel dry after washing but it helps a lot and I don't condition with anything else. I just wish the conditioner bar was bigger because it was a bit smaller than the shampoo bar. Other than that I'm happy with the bars and would buy again.

Love Hammond Herbs' products! Great quality 🙂

Great shampoo and conditioner. They make my hair so shiny! My hair occasionally looks a little stringy in places using it, but I have fine hair and hard water. Product itself is great! The mild smell is lovely too.

I’ve tried many bar shampoo and conditioners and this is the best. The shampoo gives great lather even with hard water, then the conditioner goes on smooth with easy coverage. My only ask is that they would have a rosemary lavender sent.

I first tried this combo as a gift from a dear friend. I put it in my closet, and it got lost in my chaos. I found it 1 yr later and decided to try it. OMG. I cant believe how well it works. The shampoo cleans without stripping it. And the conditioner is ahmazing. Ive never used bars before. Always mass produced products. This cant even compare. Such a great product that leaves my hair soft and shiny without stripping. I also have very long hair that snarls easy. Using the conditioner bar easily undoes the snarls without ripping and tearing. I cant say enough good about this product. It deserves the blue ribbon. Thank you for such a great product. Lifetime customer
